PLANK IN MILAN 2015 April 2015

With an array of new innovative products on show, Plank wowed their audience at the Milan Design Fair 2015.

REMO CHAIR
Design by: Konstantin Grcic

Remo is a plywood chair that merges Plank’s artisanal heritage with the latest manufacturing technologies. The company has been producing wooden furniture since it was founded in 1893, and Remo evokes this legacy of craftsmanship through its treatment of a noble and familiar material.

German designer, Konstantin Grcic used plywood’s lightweight properties to develop a simple and versatile chair that continues the tradition of innovative furniture made from this laminated material. Remo’s defining feature is a sophisticated interlocking joint that attaches the curved shell of the seat and back to a horizontal back-rest. This two-piece construction requires a combination of mechanical production and hand-finishing that results in a strong and exceptionally comfortable seat.

Remo is produced in two versions that enhance its suitability for use in different scenarios. The version with bent plywood legs has a warm and friendly appearance as well as being extremely light and easy to move around. This version is either available as "stackable” as well as non-stackable chair to suit different needs. The metal-legged version (also stackable) offers enhanced functionality for commercial use. Moreover, the lacquered wooden shell can be produced, upon request, using a number of custom colours to match any interior.

Application areas: Residential and commercial spaces.
Technical details for timber structure: Plywood chair in natural finished ash or stained in the colours chalk, walnut, grey, black. Available as Chair and Stacking chair.
Technical details for metal structure: Plywood shell made of natural finished ash or coloured with a matt open grain in white, grey, black or yellow. Metal structure matches to shell colours. Stackable.

MART TABLE
Design by: P.Lab

The point of origin for the project Mart is an aluminium die-casting plate that has been developed through the need to introduce a universal joint system between table top and base. The legs in extruded aluminum are connected to this plate and the table can be composed in different shapes and sizes. The legs are available in two versions: aluminum with white or black powder-coating or natural ash veneer surface. The table is very light and has a sleek, minimal appearance, perfect for both home environments and commercial projects such as hotels. The top in high pressure laminate (HPL) combined with powder-coated aluminium legs is suitable for outdoor use.

Application areas: Residential and commercial spaces. For indoor and outdoor use.
Technical details: Table top in powder-coated metal in black or white. Aluminum extrusion table legs with white or black powder-coating or natural ash veneer surface. Gliders in plastic. For indoor and outdoor use (powder-coated leg version only).

Design by: Biagio Cisotti & Sandra Laube

Bon, in a modern and light approach, interprets the traditional style of a typical Italian bar and coffee table. The cast iron base is very compact and merges with the slim and neat column. The table base is available in various colours in combination with black or white table tops in either high pressure laminate (HPL) or MDF.

Application areas: Residential and commercial spaces. For indoor and outdoor use.
