KONSTANTIN GRCIC FOR PLANK April 2015

Konstantin Grcic has been collaborating with Plank for about a decade, exploring and working with the Italian company on technical and material research, focusing on innovative furniture production using a variety of materials. The designer, based in Munich, has designed some exciting pieces of furniture for Plank that includes the Miura collection of tables and bar stools in a selection of bright, bold colours. The dynamic shape of the stools is futuristic and highly ergonomic, resulting in a strong visual and functional harmony.

Other designs include the Myto collection of cantilever chairs using an advanced engineered plastic construction that is strong, compact, comfortable, light and stackable. Its angular shape is made from a single piece of plastic using the minimum material possible. In contrast, the Monza collection of chairs, armchairs and tables uses a combination of ash timber and polypropylene, which is sleek and elegant in design.

Other exciting Grcic designs for Plank include the highly contemporary Avus club chair. Made for the commercial market (waiting areas in hotels, airports and offices) and the private home, the club lounge chair with leather upholstery pays tribute to classic design focusing on comfort, fine materials and refined elegance. In addition, the Palio chair designed for hotels, restaurants and private dining, features a cupped seat of core leather suspended on a stainless steel tube frame, providing a look that is both understated and refined.

NEW Grcic designs for Plank were launched at the Milan Design Fair 2015 that includes the stunning Remo chair
