Born in France in 1976, Sam Baron begins his design activity in 1997 working in several design and architecture offices. After his graduation in Design at the École des Beaux Arts de Saint Etienne in 1999, in 2001 he received a post-graduation in Design at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris and at the École des Beaux Arts de Saint Etienne. In 2003 and 2004, he was invited by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to represent French Design at the Tokyo Designers Block, winning the Prize for Best Installation with the exhibition “Rendez-Vous.” Thanks to the support of Villa Médicis Hors Les Murs and of the “Programme à La Carte” of AFAA (Association Française d’Action Artistique), he developed the projects Frágil’04 and L collection, working with the Vista Alegre/Atlantis group in Portugal.

In 2003, he was selected to be part of the design department of Fabrica, the Benetton group communication research center, where he worked for one year. His ceramic plates collection “Design slices” was presented at the Cooper Hewitt museum of New York and is sold worldwide by Bosa.

His projects have been exhibited in several international design events and fairs, such as Maison et Objets, Salon du Meuble in Paris, Salone del Mobile in Milan, International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NY, Tokyo Designers Block, Biennale de Saint Etienne and Frankfurt Design Fair. Among his clients : Louis Vuitton, L’Oréal group, Secondome, Bosa, Casamania, De Beers, Vista Alegre / Atlantis Portugal and Baccarat.

He is the winner of the “2007 Grand Prix de la Création de La Ville de Paris” (design section), the “2009 Art de la table Award” launched by Elle Decor France and the “Créateur de l'Année 2010” promoted by Maison et Objets. Sam Baron currently lives and works between France, Portugal and Italy where he directs Fabrica’s design.
