LIGHTS IN THE ATTIC

LOCATIONHawthorn, East Melbourne, VIC
DESIGN FIRMARCHITECTS EAT
PROJECT STORY

This artfully composed Melbourne cafe called 'Lights in the Attic,' designed by Architects EAT, takes the industry’s total obsession with fine materials to the next level.

The design of the cafe celebrates materiality in raw and finished form.
The three curved columns connect the zones of the interior space. Raw steel bleeds to a mirror polish, a sandblasted wall is draped with denim and a polished ceiling draws the eye from an exposed concrete slab. Masked behind the ordinary awaits hidden functionality for the curious coffee drinker to discover whilst getting their morning caffeine hit.

The project features DOLL chairs by Billiani in chalk stain, TONDINA POP by Infiniti Design in white and the LOW STANCE stools by Furnished Forever. These pieces all complement this sophisticated interior space beautifully.
